The Environmental Working Group (EWG) just released 2023’s Sunscreen Guide. The group assessed over 1,700 SPF products for safety and efficacy to help consumers make more informed decisions when purchasing sun care. Their research found that only 25 percent of the products they assessed met their standards for broad-spectrum sun protection and the exclusion of harmful chemicals. Since that still leaves hundreds of sunscreen products to sift through, we decided to curate a list of some of our favorite safe options. All of the products on this list scored a one or two (one being the best) or are EWG Verified.
