“I had just turned 40, and I was working with a trainer last summer really hard,” says Bravo star and podcast host Kristen Doute. “And I enjoy working out! But nothing was changing.”
An age of hormonal changes, Doute expected it to get a little harder to maintain her figure as she got older, but not impossible. Instead, she found that no amount of healthy vegetarian lifestyle or gym-time commitment was accomplishing her goals, and that her body was changing outside of her control.
It happened slowly at first, but over the months, Doute began noticing a change in her mental health.
“That was when I knew,” Doute says. “Like, I’m wearing one-piece swimsuits and baggy T-shirts and I don’t feel comfortable in my body anymore. It was a struggle to get dressed in the morning. I became that girl who has to sit in a towel in front of the closet for 45 minutes.”
The choice to seek treatment came naturally.
The hard part seemed like it was going to be choosing a treatment or procedure to reach her goals.
But then came AirSculpt, and Doute found there didn’t have to be a hard part at all.
Why AirSculpt?
“Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of different non-invasive aesthetic procedures,” Doute says. “It feels like I’ve tried everything in the world. But none of it was working for me.”
When her practitioner suggested AirSculpt, she was ready for something new.
“The appeal to me was that it wasn’t just permanent fat removal,” Doute explains. “But that it also about the sculpting and tightening of skin.”
Needle-free and minimally invasive, AirSculpt is a low downtime way to remove fat cell-by-cell, while sparing surrounding tissue. A cannula is used to remove the fat, and as it spins around a thousand times per minute, a skin-tightening effect is achieved. That effect can also be enhanced with the addition of Renuvion, the only device FDA-cleared for contracting subcutaneous tissues.
The Procedure
“The actual experience was wonderful,” Doute says. “It felt like hanging out with friends and family; we basically just listened to music and chatted while it was happening.”
AirSculpt is performed under a local anesthetic, that pairs well with the low-downtime, with most patients getting back to work within 24-48 hours.
“I did have to wear a compression garment that became my best friend for two weeks,” Doute says. “But when I took my first shower and took the garment off, I could already see such a dramatic result. And then for my doctor to tell me that I was still really swollen and the ultimate result would be even more dramatic, I was like this is swollen?”
The Result
“I felt immediately a million times better,” Doute says of her procedure. “I’m not a person that actually cares to know the number that I weigh. To me, it’s all about how I feel and how my clothes feel on me. And I’ve already dropped a dress size!”
AirSculpt is just one treatment, but due to the slow wearing off of swelling, your results continue to improve over the course of three to six months.
“I cannot tell you how many people I’ve recommended this treatment to,” Doute says. “Friends, family, my sister, my best friend, anyone I can think of.”
I feel amazing,” she says. And more than just loving her results, Doute explains, she’s loving herself.
“I bought my first two-piece swimsuit since 2019, and I’m like, ‘oh my god am I going to buy a real pair of jeans soon?'” she laughs. “I don’t have to wear shapewear anymore, and when I look in the mirror, I’m confident again.”
And the impact on her mental health is obvious.
“Even my relationship has gotten better,” Doute says. “Not because my stomach is flatter, but because I’m happier with myself. Because now when he says I look beautiful, I believe him because I feel that way, too.”
