Jenna Dewan and fiancé Steve Kazee welcomed their baby girl, Rhiannon, into the world on June 14. Their new addition marks The Rookie star’s third child and her second with Kazee. In the spirit of candidness and happiness, the 43-year-old actress has been active on social media, sharing updates about their bundle of joy. Most recently, she posted photos of herself breastfeeding Rhiannon on Instagram—and fans are praising her openness.
“One week of bliss,” she captioned a gallery of images, including the aforementioned breastfeeding photo. “Back home and transitioning with the kids has been easier than I expected and so I’m here to remind you to always leave room in your mind for ease and lightness too.”
Her choice of posting breastfeeding images has garnered mixed reactions from fans. One person commented, “Thank you for normalizing breastfeeding and making it beautiful.” Others questioned the decision, but the Step Up actress chose to ignore the criticism.
Dewan’s experience with breastfeeding has been a journey. In 2020, she opened up about her breastfeeding challenges in a lengthy Instagram post. “It’s incredible and it can also be really challenging,” she wrote. “At least it was for me the second time around. From latching issues, to my son loving one side vs. another, making more milk, when to pump… EVERYTHING was different and I found myself asking a lot of questions.
I had a look on the @peanut app to see if other moms were going through the same challenges…turns out they have a group especially for breastfeeding and I picked up so many helpful tips. There really is no other advice that compares to other moms who have been in exactly the same situation. I always believe that when women come together and share knowledge, we are so powerful. If you’re a mama, mama-to-be or you’re trying to conceive, check it out!” It’s worth noting that the post was a paid sponsorship with an app for those navigating fertility, pregnancy, motherhood, or menopause, but there’s nothing to suggest her words were inauthentic.
This isn’t the first post social media has seen of Dewan and Kazee’s new baby. Earlier in the week, she shared images seemingly taken not long after Rhiannon was born. “From the moment you arrived, you have brought immense joy and love into our lives,” she captioned the sweet post. “Your gentle grace, sweetness, and beauty have captivated our entire family. Our hearts are overflowing with love, and we are truly blessed by your presence. Welcome to our world baby girl.”
