When we think about cosmetic surgery our minds first float to California, where the stars visit plastic surgeons pretty frequently. New York and Miami also spring to mind as spots that might rack up searches for surgeries. We recently came across a study that shocked us. According to data, Delaware is the state that’s most interested in cosmetic surgery, and the runner-ups are just as surprising.
Medical experts at med.ro took the time to analyze the number of average monthly Google searches in each state for a variety of different procedures and search terms. The search volume for each of the terms (X near me, how much is X, etc.) was combined for each procedure to determine which states are most interested in the topic and which surgeries pique the most interest.
Delaware has 308 cosmetic surgery-related searches for every 100,000 people each month. The runner-up is Rhode Island, followed by Maryland. Virginia and Georgia found themselves in fourth and fifth place respectively.
The study also found that the Brazilian Butt Lift is the most searched-for cosmetic surgery in America, despite its possible pitfalls. The runner-ups include tummy tucks, hair transplants, liposuction and nose jobs.
