Celebrities often discuss facial skin-care in interviews, on their social media and in YouTube videos highlighting their routine. However, stars rarely share what they do to take care of the rest of their skin. Recently, Courteney Cox revealed what she does to maintain her healthy, youthful-looking skin post-shower.
Cox told InStyle that she does intensive dry-brushing before she steps in the shower. “I don’t mean the kind for lymphatic drainage, where you’re lightly brushing towards your heart, or whatever,” said Cox. “I don’t give a s*** about that. I’m talking like the stiffest, hardest brush. I just scrub up and down, to get the circulation going.”
When Cox hops out of the shower, she lathers herself in Augustinus Bader The Body Cream ($180). She then layers on body oil. “Someone said it’s called ‘slugging’? I don’t know—I just put the oil on top of the cream because I think it locks it in.”
The 57-year-old star revealed to InStyle that she regrets neglecting skin care in her 20s, citing skipping moisturizing and spending too many hours in the sun. “You’ve just got to remember to take care of your body at a young age because you can’t start at 50,” said Cox. “It’s easy to use Retin-A or whatever and keep your face going. But there are only so many dry brushes you can use.”
