When it comes to celebrities who can pull off any look, Florence Pugh is one of the first to come to mind. Throughout her career starring in blockbuster films like Dune and Midsommar, the 28-year-old actress has rocked everything from a pixie to a full buzz cut and voluminous bouffant strands. For Pugh fans like myself, though, the star’s nostalgic hair and makeup in the film Don’t Worry Darling is always a favorite. Luckily for us, Pugh recently channeled that nostalgic look once again for a shoot with British Vogue, using the viral Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray ($35).

Florence Pugh Goes ’50s for British Vogue

For many pop culture lovers, Halloween circa 2022 was dominated by Pugh’s ’50s housewife aesthetic à la Don’t Worry Darling. And just in time for this year’s costume planning, Pugh appeared in British Vogue’s October issue in a fully retro get-up, from her kitten heels to her cat eye and, of course, her bouffant hair.

How did Pugh’s hair reach such sky-high volume, you ask? According to the hairstylist for the shoot, Evanie Frausto, Bumble and Bumble’s Thickening Spray was key. “Venetia Scott [who styled the shoot] wanted to create a world that felt like it was from another time, and that didn’t feel too modern, so that was what inspired me initially,” he told the outlet, “I used loads of Bumble & Bumble’s Thickening Spray, which is really great for adding volume, but is soft and flexible, making it easy to work the hair into different shapes.”
