Awarding someone the title of “timeless beauty” is no small feat, but few embody it quite like Amal Clooney. From her radiant skin to her long, healthy hair, the 46-year-old human rights lawyer exudes an effortlessly chic, elevated allure that never goes out of style.
While we typically associate Clooney with her signature brunette strands, the activist switched it up at the Venice Film Festival this past week, debuting honey blonde highlights created with a $16 box dye. Clooney stepped out alongside husband George, turning heads—including ours.
Amal Clooney’s Budget-Friendly Honey Blonde Highlights
Aside from the noteworthy screenings, the Venice Film Festival often provides us with some of the most luxurious, high-class beauty and fashion inspiration, and this year was no exception. Throughout the week-long affair, Amal stepped out several times in to-die-for styles, from an oversized sun hat to a butter-yellow backless gown. But her best accessory night and day was, without a doubt, her noticeably lighter hair.
To get Clooney ready for the film festival, celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos told British Vogue, “We wanted to give her a classic Italian look. I couldn’t think of better inspiration than Sophia Loren. A big bouncy blowout and shimmery bronzy make-up was perfect.” Before the pair even arrived in Venice, Giannetos prepped Amal’s hair by adding highlights with L’Oréal Paris’ Le Color Gloss ($16) in Honey Blonde, making for the perfect warm, subtle pop of lightness. In terms of styling, Giannetos turned to Garnier Fructis’ Hair Filler Serum ($10) for silver screen-worthy shine.
