Salma Hayek is not afraid to show her grays. In fact, if it were up to her she’d show them off. “I don’t mind it,” she says while running her fingers through her gray streaks in a recent Instagram post. “But sometimes the people you’re working with … they do mind.” While getting glammed on set, the star got a quick hair touch up from hairstylist Miguel Martin Perez, and took the opportunity to share her own DIY gray hair hack.
“Look at all this white hair,” Hayek, 57, says as she shows off her strands. “So, what is the secret? How can you cover it sometimes without having to dye it? So, when I am on my own, I just put mascara!”
The actress showed how she quickly and easily covered her grays on the go. ““ust go like this,” she said as she swiped the wand through her strands, “and all the little rebellious ones that stick up, they not only go black but they stay flat.”
Hayek went on to share her hairstylist’s hair hack as well. “But today because we have an amazing hairdresser working with us who’s going to show us a different trick.” Perez then sprayed her gray spots with “hair makeup” to conceal the grays for days.
“See, I don’t have to be dyeing it every three weeks,” Hayek shared.
When fans asked for the product name, Hayek says she couldn’t recall. “To be honest, I didn’t pay attention to the name of the product because for me, my Instagram is to have contact with you and you with me and not to sell you things. The one they gave me didn’t paint the pillow.”
