A birthday isn’t complete without the essentials: a great cake, a killer outfit, and maybe a few surprises from loved ones. But for beauty aficionados, there’s one more must-have: a photo-worthy manicure. Just ask Kylie Jenner, who made sure her 27th birthday was as glam as ever on Saturday, August 10. Ahead of her big day, the reality star paid a visit to her go-to nail artist, Zola Ganzorigt, who gave her a manicure as fabulous as her festivities.
The result? Long, almond shaped nails featuring a glossy light pink base, decorated with multicolored and uniquely shaped jewel accents on each nail. Most of the nails feature a single gemstone placed in the center, but she switched things up on her pointer finger, placing one round green gemstone at the top and another towards the base of her nail. Check them out below.
Kylie Jenner’s Birthday Nails
The beauty of Jenner’s birthday nails, beyond their obvious allure, is that they’re surprisingly easy to recreate at home for those who prefer a DIY approach. To get the look, begin with a similar light pink base coat, then apply your favorite nail gemstones (a kit with applicator tools makes the process a breeze), and finish with rhinestone glue to keep everything perfectly in place.
Lately, other celebrities have also been spicing up classic manicures with gemstone accents or intricate nail art. In July, Megan Fox tapped celebrity manicurist and Lost Angels founder Brittney Boyce for an edgy twist on the French manicure. Instead of the traditional white tip, Boyce reversed the look with a long tip and a short base, then embellished each nail with gemstones for a maximalist effect we’ve dubbed the “Megan Fox French.”
The ‘Megan Fox French’
But as Jenner proves, rhinestone nails don’t have to be all about maximalism. Take Charli D’Amelio, for example, who previously went with an understated, yet equally covetable, version of the “Megan Fox French.” Her look featured a traditional curved French manicure on long, almond-shaped nails, each with a single rhinestone placed just below the French tip for some sparkle.
