It’s been nearly a month since Vanessa Hudgens last blessed our Instagram feeds with a new set of acrylic nails, so it was only a matter of time before the 35-year-old actress made her way back to the nail salon. And just like clockwork, the High School Musical alum and her go-to manicurist, Zola Ganzorigt, took to Instagram today, August 9, to debut her latest look: Bright yellow-green French tips with a shiny chrome finish. It’s giving major “brat girl summer” vibes à la Charlie XCX.
Ganzorigt shared a clip of her client’s nails to her Instagram grid, writing, “Before summer slips away, let the neon glaze out.” Hudgens reposted the clip to her Instagram Story, declaring them her “end of summer set” and proclaimed herself “obsessed.” As seen in the video, Hudgens’ nails are long and almond-shaped, just as mesmerizing as her last set of acrylics—a dreamy cat-eye design—but this time with a much bolder, edgier vibe.

Hudgens isn’t the only star experimenting with modern versions of the classic French manicure; everyone seems to be tailoring it to their style. Case in point: Megan Fox recently got a reverse French of sorts, featuring a tip longer than the base, accentuated with gemstones. Madison Beer, on the other hand, went for an off-white shade on her curved tips, giving an understated, double-take-worthy French a refined upgrade.
That’s not all. Blake Lively recently debuted a watercolor French manicure design that looked like art, starring floral tips inspired by her character in her newly released movie, It Ends With Us. Last but certainly not least: Kerry Washington is in on the trend, too. Not too long ago, she traded a classic white tip for a gilded one for an opulent twist.
