This is not a drill! Rihanna’s Fenty Hair is launching this month. Exclusive early access is available for those who sign up here. And the countdown to launch day has officially begun.
Announcing Fenty Hair
When it comes to celebrity beauty brands, Rihanna’s Fenty is considered a tour de force. Fenty is among the most popular celebrity brands and carries a reputation for quality, inclusive products. So, it’s not necessarily a surprise to see Rihanna expand her empire.
“A new family is moving in! @fentyhair is pullin up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for,” Rihanna says in her June 4 announcement post. “You know how much switching my hair up matters to me. I’ve had almost every texture, color, length, from weaves to braids to natural- so I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need! It’s time to play and get stronger by the style.”
She’s not exaggerating. We’ve been inspired by Rihanna’s hair transformations for a long time. From obsessing over her honey blonde transformation to gagging with excitement for the pink look she almost rocked at the MET this year (celebrities get sick too). As a trend-setter and veritable icon in the world of hair, it was really only a matter of time for Fenty Hair to debut.
Years in the Making
According to legal filings, Roraj Trade LLC, Rihanna’s company, filed a new trademark application for “Fenty Hair” back in 2021. Things were quiet on this front for a long time—three years to be exact.
That might sound like a long time to wait. But we suspect that product development and testing were a big reason behind the time between trademark and launch. While all of us are begging for new music, Rihanna’s been on that entrepreneur grind. She’s also a working mom now, welcoming her second child with A$AP Rocky back in August.
So, what will Fenty Hair consist of?
Your guess is as good as ours, but the eagle-eyed viewer can spots some good hints in the promo video that accompanied the Instagram announcement. It looks like we can expect a comprehensive in-shower and styling collection that’s tailored by hair type and texture. A look at the shop wall in the video shows groups of pastel bottles that could easily be for straight, coily and curly hair types. We’re also guessing that the line will prioritize hair health, helping keep curls bouncy and straight strands frizz-free.
