Olympic gold medal gymnast Jordan Chiles’ skin care has come a long way since she put peanut butter on her face as a dare (true story). The 23-year-old now prioritizes taking care of her skin, body and mental health, knowing it’s all connected. And there’s one brand in particular that she’s noticed has made a huge difference in her skin texture.
“My skin has changed a lot since I was younger to now. I definitely have focused on making sure my skin isn’t cracked and my skin is hydrated,” says Chiles. “Adding Vaseline [products] into my skin-care and body-care routine, it’s changed not only the texture of my skin but it smells amazing,” she says. “It makes my skin glowy, and I just really enjoy the feeling of it.”
Chiles loves the new launch, Vaseline Pro VitaB3 ($9) because it’s non-greasy, which is great for gymnastics. “We want to be able to put lotion on then go on a mat and feel perfectly fine,” says Chiles. “We constantly flip and grab our legs, and our hands are on the beam, and we just don’t want to slip.” She also likes the classic Petroleum Jelly ($12) and Balm Stick ($7), especially on tattoos and scars.
In addition to having hydrating products like Vaseline in her gym bag, she also usually packs chapstick or lip gloss and perfume—her favorites are Burberry and Prada. But Chiles is anything but stuck in her ways. She loves trying new things she finds on Pinterest or trends her sister sends her. Side note: her sister is her head makeup artist. This is especially adorable since Chiles says she was like her baby doll growing up. Her best beauty advice is to be authentic to who you are, be experimental and have fun with it.
