With the whirlwind of life that comes after giving birth, it’s easy for new moms to neglect their own mental health and well being in exchange for caring for their little one. While it may appear glamorous on television, postpartum life isn’t easy, even for celebs with expert teams behind them, like the the members of the Kardashian clan.
Not long ago, Kourtney Kardashian welcomed her first child with husband Travis Barker, but Kourt is no newcomer in the world of postpartum, having raised her three other babies with ex Scott Disick over the last 14 years. While you would think that after four babies, you’d have postpartum down to a science, just yesterday, Kourt shared a much-needed reminder about body image and acceptance after giving birth, no matter if it’s your first time or your fifth.
Kourtney Kardashian’s Body Image Reminder
Over the last couple days, Kourtney and Kim have been serving up tons of glamorous vacation content, with crystal blue seas and jet skiis in tow. But, while the pictures we see may make everything look like sunshine and rainbows, Kourt’s Instagram story let followers in on a lesser-known part of her expensive life: her body-image struggles.
It may be hard to even imagine any of the Kardashians struggling with body image, but postpartum brings about confidence issues for almost everyone, as Kourt reminded followers with a wholesome message atop one of her recent posts. “Dear new mommies,” she began, “Your body is beautiful at all stages. During pregnancy as we are glowing and growing, postpartum as we are healing [and] shrinking, and then that period I find the hardest as our bodies are still adjusting.”
Continuning on, Kourt wrote, “and if you’re breastfeeding, that’s a whole other part of it. I try to be king to myself as my body finds a new normal. The pressure put on us to bounce back when everything is new and different isn’t realistic. Life is beautiful, you are beautiful. Just a little reminder (for me too).” Perfectly said, Kourt.
