Philosophy

A Harvard Medical School graduate with Fellowship training from UCLA, Dr. George Sanders is dedicated to enhancing the human form in a most natural way, yet he and his staff never lose sight of the human spirit in order to create a sensitive and nurturing environment for every patient.

About My Practice

What does a consultation with you entail?

After listening carefully and examining the patient thoroughly, appropriate options are discussed and a recommendation for treatment is made. In some cases, modern imaging techniques are used to enhance communication between patient and surgeon. If the patient feels that the image conveys their desired appearance and I believe I can deliver the look, we’re good to go!

Where do you perform surgical procedures?

Surgical procedures are performed at the Encino Surgicenter, a state-of-the-art, medicare- and AAAASF-approved freestanding center, located adjacent to my office.

What is the recovery like after a macs-lift?

Since a MACS-Lift can be performed under local anesthesia and without post-surgical drains, the recovery tends to be less difficult. Patients may go directly home after surgery and may resume normal activities after one and a half weeks and light exercise by two weeks.

About Me

What alternative occupation would you choose?

Philanthropy has always appealed to me. I also believe I would enjoy being a college professor! When I began college I wanted to be a high school science teacher, but the fact that there were over 100 PhD candidates for a single science teaching position made medical school seem like an easier path to follow. I’m glad I took that route!

Why did you become a plastic surgeon?

As a medical student I was attracted to psychiatry and the concept of changing a person’s self-image. When I was exposed to plastic surgery, I realized that this was a pathway to improving self-image in a matter of hours instead of the years required by psychiatry.

Do you have any hobbies?

I particularly like horseback riding, skiing, golf, travel and church activities.

FAQs

  1. What is a Botox browlift?
    What our experts say:

You use Botox to block the downward pull of the orbicularis ocularis muscle that encircles the eye and pulls the outer part of the brow down.

  2. What is the best way to rejuvenate the face? Surgically? Non-surgically?
    What our experts say:

There is no best way. It depends on what the problem is – skin aging, loss of volume, drooping tissue, etc.

  3. How do you make a facelift undetectable?
    What our experts say:

With proper direction of lift, attention to detail in the suturing, and by avoiding too tight of a pull.

  4. What is the difference between a MACS-Lift and a traditional facelift?
    What our experts say:

The MACS-Lift involves less skin lifting and involves a great deal of deep lifting. It is a less-involved surgery with less expense and a shorter recovery. It is best for those women without a great deal of neck problems and good skin quality.

  5. How do I add more volume to my face?
    What our experts say:

You can do so by repositioning drooping fat or by adding volume in the form of fat or “off the shelf” injectables like Juvederm, Sculptra, Radiesse, etc.
