Camila Cabello is looking “hot uptown” and that’s not just our opinion. Stunning on the carpet in a sheer black lace gown by Tony Ward, Cabello has officially left blonde behind. And this funeral for a friend couldn’t be more glam. With the black lace and sultry dark hair, you might have expected an equally mysterious manicure to match. But surprisingly, the ‘Havana’ singer chose another classic trend to pair with her look. And apparently, Camila Cabello’s soap nails are helping her start over.
Celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec explains that the look was inspired by Cabello’s return to her natural brunette. “Camila is going back to her roots, and this is the ‘funeral’ of the blonde,” Kandalec says. “The nails represent wiping the palette clean.”
Soap nails are an off-shoot of the iconic bubble bath manicure, where soft pinks and creamy finishes are utilized to give off an ultra-clean vibe. The idea is delicate and (dare we say) demure.
The look was achieved using the brand new KISS Salon X-tend Gel System Kit in style Gloria. That means Cabello’s soap nails could be yours for just $11! This gel system provides a salon quality soft gel extension in nearly any shape, length or finish of your choice. The nails are pre-sculpted and pre-polished. They’re ready to apply right out of the box with an exclusive LED Gel Adhesive that provides a bubble-free, flawless finish.

The first step to any perfect manicure is the right prep. Kandalec first prepped the nails using the manicure stick and file, included in the Salon X-tend LED Soft Gel System Starter Kit ($20), to shape and buff the nails. Then, wiped the nails clean with the included prep pad. She pre-selected Cabello’s nail sizes in style “Gloria” to ensure a proper fit. The nails were then flash cured under the LED light for five to seven seconds. She removed any excess gel adhesive, and to finish, cured for one minute.
