Last night’s MET Gala was one for the books. From showstopping gowns to miles of wavy hair extensions (one of the big hair trends of the night), the next-level beauty and fashion had us in full gasp. In the past couple years, the nude lip seems to be the look every A-lister embraces, and at this year’s event, one specific product caught our eye. The ultra-luxe Dior Rouge Dior Lip Contour lined the lips of three gorgeous celebrities. Combined, they have more than 50 million followers on Instagram. See who, and get the inside scoop from their makeup artists, below.

Alexandra Daddario

On Alexandra Daddario, celebrity makeup artist Lottie Stannard used the lip liner in shade #300 Nude Style. “I paired it with Rouge Dior Lipstick in shade #220 Beige Couture Velvet to give Alex the perfect natural flush of color on the lips,” Stannard says. “I wanted a nude lip to balance out the look with her smoky eye. But, it was important to have the right shade, so it didn’t pale out her lips too much and blend with her skin tone. I like to line the lips starting at her Cupid’s bow and rounding out her top lip shape for fullness. Then I fill in the whole lip with the pencil for definition and volume, and finish with the lipstick. This helps with longevity during events!”

Rosalía

For Rosalía’s look, celebrity makeup artist Shelby Smith wanted the lip to be the statement. “We kept the skin sculpted to enhance her natural features—timeless and elegant—while pairing it with a modern twist on the classic red lip,” says Smith. “I defined her lips with a rich brown using Rouge Dior Contour in shade #400 Nude Line. Then I added a pop of red to the center of the lips with a combination of Rouge Dior Couture Color Velvet Lipstick in #866 and #840 for the perfect burnt hue and dimensional appearance.”

Rachel Zegler

On actress Rachel Zegler, celebrity makeup artist Allan Avendano used Rouge Dior Contour in #400 Nude Line to add a bit of definition to her lips. “It has such a blendable, smooth finish that it makes it so easy to create different lip looks and lip shapes,” says Avendano. “My favorite tip is to apply and blur the edges with my finger. This helps the lips look fuller without any harsh lines!” (On a personal note, this is something I also do every day when I apply my lip liner.)
