Canadian folk goddess Joni Mitchell made a stunning debut at last night’s Grammys. While we’re still not over the performance, we now have some create-it-at-home insight into the products used for the 80-year-old’s glowing look.
“For Joni’s Grammy night look I wanted to create a classic glowing flushed face,” shares celeb makeup artist Molly Greenwald. “It was the clear plan perfect for using ILIA’s natural sheer formulas!”
First up: Greenwald prepped the skin with the brand’s The Base Face Milk ($58), which she says “soothes and hydrates the skin, leaving it ready for makeup.”
The star of the show: The super popular Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 ($48) in ST2.5 Sombrio. The product not only offers legit skin-care ingredients (hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and squalene, to name a few), but it also boasts impressive clinical stats. Greenwald says she applied the lightweight formula to the entire face using her fingers, as you would a serum.
Under the eyes, Greenwald applied the True Skin Serum Concealer ($32) in SC1.5 Suma. “The serum concealer blends beautifully into the skin giving the perfect amount of coverage while still giving a skin-like appearance,” she says.
As for the last steps of the skin prep: “Using the Liquid Light Serum Highlighter ($42) in Atomic and the Multi-Stick ($36) in the shade In The City, I added lots of glow and warmth to the complexion,” Greenwald says.
