Lately, our social media feeds are buzzing with celebrity nail looks, especially modern twists on the classic French manicure. We’ve seen Kylie Jenner’s manicurist paint garden-inspired illustrations below her pastel yellow French tips and Kerry Washington’s gilded French tips for her Bustle cover. Now, joining the trend, Madison Beer has combined two of the season’s buzziest nail designs: slightly reflective chrome tips and the beloved French manicure.

Madison Beer’s Chrome French Manicure

Beer’s manicurist, Sreynin Peng, shared a photo of her client’s nails to her Instagram grid on Tuesday, July 23. The nails are long and almond-shaped, featuring a light pink base for a natural look, curved white French tips, and a reflective chrome top coat. Peng even spilled the exact colors she used: Aprés Nail gel polish in the shade For Once for the base and Baby’s Breath, a subtly off-white shade, for the tips. To recreate Beer’s manicure, ask your nail artist for these specific shades, show them a photo, and you should end up with a near-exact replica of the “Home With You” singer’s manicure.

As we’ve seen, chrome and French manicures are two of the go-to trends this summer. Joey King debuted a similar design at the Despicable Me 4 premiere in New York City. Her nails, brought to life by celebrity nail artist Elle Gerstein, featured a classic pink sheer base, much like Beer’s, but with a twist: pastel green French tips that complemented her dress, topped with the chrome effect.

Prefer the pop of color to Beer’s more classic rendition? Here’s what to ask for at the salon, according to Gerstein. She started with the Madam Glam Builder Gel in Sheer Pink, followed by Madam Glam Gel in Dusty Pastel Green for King’s French tips. Next, she applied the Madam Glam No Wipe Top Coat over the entire nail before curing each one with a UV lamp. As the last step, she finished with the chrome effect, specifically using the Laza Mermaid Chrome Powder in Green.
