Scarlett Johansson, actress and co-founder of The Outset, is a beacon of radiant skin. But being a multi-hyphenate and busy mom doesn’t deter her from maintaining a dedicated skincare routine.
In an exclusive interview with The New York Times, the 39-year-old reveals her skincare secrets. She relies on various makeup and skincare products for her everyday look, including her line, The Outset. The effectiveness of these products is evident in her routine. She starts her day with the Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser ($32), which cleanses without stripping moisture. This is followed by the Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum ($46), a brightening and hydrating powerhouse. Her night care routine includes the antioxidant gel cleanser and Restorative Niacinamide Night Cream ($54), which deeply hydrates the skin overnight, leaving it smooth and radiant in the morning.
When it comes to her shower routine, Johansson uses Molton Brown Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel ($35) bath and shower gel, which has notes of marine, cool spice, and salted blue cypress. She also mentions that her husband, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost, uses the body wash too. The Vicky Cristina Barcelona star also uses the Goop Microderm Instant Glow Body Polish ($48) to exfoliate, clean and moisturize the skin. During her shower, she lets the Goop Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo ($55) sit on her scalp to cleanse away product buildup, oil and dirt, leaving it refreshed and clean. However, she’s since swapped the product for the Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector ($30) because, according to the actress, her hair “had a lot of breakage from getting it colored.”
For her makeup routine, Johansson enjoys experimenting with her everyday look, using products that suit her style and needs. She uses the Dior Backstage Flash Perfector Concealer ($32), along with the Diorshow Maximizer 4D Lash Primer ($33) to prep her lashes. Then, she uses Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara ($33), which is smudge-proof and gives her lashes volume. For eyebrows, The Avengers star uses this celebrity-loved Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade ($21) to lightly fill in her eyebrows.
She shares that she barely wears lipstick, but when she wants to make her pout pop at night, she uses Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution M.i. Kiss Matte Lipstick ($35). After a long day of work, she loves using the Lancôme Bi-Facil Double Action Makeup Remover ($52), a water and oil bi-phase that doesn’t irritate the skin or leave it feeling greasy. She raves about this makeup remover, saying, “I have very sensitive skin, and that’s one product that doesn’t burn and removes all of my makeup after filming.”
