Dubbed wet balayage, the practice involves many of the same steps as more traditional balayage, but with the exception that it’s done on wet hair instead of dry hair, which colorist and stylist Claude Baruk of Claude BARUK Salons in Las Vegas says gives natural-looking color while maintaining the health of the hair. “Beautiful hair begins with healthy hair. Balayage is my favorite method to apply color because the results are so gorgeous and natural-looking,” adds Baruk. “I use ‘wet balayage’ to ensure hair is healthy and personalized for every client. It’s a fantastic way to care for hair while giving clients beautiful, natural-looking color. This is the only technique in the world that I know of that is being used to apply wet balayage. There is no root effect with this technique, so there no rush to update color. You can even go several months, as hair grows out naturally.”
