Laura Dern may be in her mid-50s, but whenever we spot the actress on-screen or on social media, she looks 10 years younger. In a recent interview, Dern tells The Cut she hasn’t done anything to her face other being diligent with her skin care, so, naturally, we’re taking notes.
“This is newish in my regimen,” Dern says, speaking on the True Botanicals Chebula Active Serum ($90). “We were all so stressed, and I was going back to work on what was considered the first movie ‘back’ during the pandemic. The times were so scary for all of us, and on top of that, I felt like my skin looked dry and tired, so I started using this. The texture of it changed, and it felt really moisturized.” Also on her moisturizing list is Face Place Collagen Moisturizer ($50), which Dern says she’s been using for over 20 years.
On top of those two products, she layers on True Botanicals Renew Pure Radiance Face Oil ($110) to give her a porcelain finish. “Since I found True Botanicals, I’ve honestly never used foundation in a movie unless I have to be a warmer tone because I’m supposed to be tan or something,” she tells The Cut. “We really just use this skin-care product as my foundation.”
Like any true skin-care lover, Dern applies sunscreen before she starts her day. Explaining that her skin is sensitive to most SPF products, the one she swears by is Dr. Barbara Sturm Sun Drops SPF 50 ($145). Finally, Dern uses Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Masque ($37). “Both my daughter and I use it, and we feel like our skin changes instantly. It leaves your skin so soft.”
