Leave it to Troy, MI, plastic surgeon Anthony Youn, MD to give us yet another non-invasive, look-better tip that wasn’t on our radar.
“If you want a browlift without surgery, have your aesthetician wax the under-surface of your normal eyebrow,” NewBeauty Brain Trust member Dr. Youn shares to his one-million Instagram followers. “It increases the surface of your eye to your eyebrow, and makes it look like you had a browlift.”
Benefit’s Global Brow Expert, Jared Bailey is also on board: “All skilled aestheticians know that the best brows are built from the bottom. Creating a clean base for the brow shape absolutely opens the eye and can lift a person’s entire look. However, depending on the width of the brow, you may not get the lift you’re looking for by brow-shaping alone,” he says, pointing to the trending brow-lamination option, which he likes for a solution that allows you to redirect the natural bend or curve of the brow hairs.
“It is an amazing way to redirect your brow hairs upward and outward, helping enhance a more lifted look.”
Another way to lift the look of your brow area without shaping or a service is with the magic of makeup, and Bailey says it doesn’t have to be that difficult.
“Using a creamy, flesh-toned pencil like Benefit’s High Brow Duo Pencil, in a shade that’s slightly lighter than your skin tone, will help create the illusion of a higher, more lifted brow. Simply add the highlighter underneath the arch (or highest portion of your brow) and blend with your fingertips.”
If makeup, tweezing or the lamination option aren’t for you, Bailey says he has one more super simple look-younger advice that he tells clients all the time: “Fill in your brows or make older friends. Trust me, both work! But making new friends can be tough, and makeup is much easier. Full, lush brows is the tell-tale sign of youth. If you’re starting to lose density or fullness in your brows, use a microliner like Precisely My Brow Pencil, in the same shade as your brow hairs to flick in a few hair like strokes where your brows begin to fade away.”
