From Christian Louboutin’s first-ever fragrance collection to the Byredo eyeshadow palette that has even the most jaded beauty editor excited—it takes a lot to wow some of us after years in the biz!—these are the most luxurious products grabbing our attention right now.
Hermes Lipstick Case ($340)
The ultimate lipstick accessory, this protective leather case comes in eight colors and a variety of textures, from Evercolor calf skin and Mysore goat skin to the most precious, according to the brand: black lizard. “These cases are designed to be used, and it is their use that makes them precious,” says Hermes. Other details not to be missed: raw, burnished edges, 27 hand-sewn saddle sitches and a tone-on-tone lining in Chagrin goatskin that allows the lipstick to slide smoothly in and out with ease.
Chanel Les Chaînes de Chanel Illuminating Blush Powder ($70)
An exclusive creation from Chanel global creative makeup and colour designer Lucia Pica for the Holiday 2020 Collection, this chain-embossed blush is a microfine powder that gives cheeks a warm, lit-from-within glow and slightly shimmery flush. Though it only comes in one shade—it’s limited-edition so snag it while you can—the bronzy, dusty rose flatters all skin tones.
Christian Louboutin Beauty Loubiworld ($300 each)
Christian Louboutin Beauty’s first fragrance collection, Loubiworld comprises seven unisex scents, each with its own story that is meant to take you on a journey through the imagination of the Monsieur Christian Louboutin himself. To create each bottle, Louboutin collaborated with friend and designer Hélène Tran, and we are absolutely blown away by the craftmanship—each bottle is its own work of art, and something we definitely want to show off on our vanity.
Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Golden Nights Palette ($63)
Dior’s creative director Peter Philips nailed the holiday collection again this year. This quad features a gorgeous snowflake pattern that’s almost too pretty to mess up, but you won’t waste a second dipping your brush in once you see the color payoff and “winter wonderland” sheen it gives your lids.
YSL Beauté Rouge Pur Couture x Zoë Kravitz in Midnight LA ($38)
Part of the eight-piece limited-edition collection created in partnership with actress Zoe Kravitz, this creamy, highly pigmented red lipstick—it has a pretty pinkish undertone—was named after the city Kravitz grew up in. And look at the sparkle on that tube!
Gucci Poudre De Beauté Éclat Soleil Powder ($62)
This bronzer is a total stunner. Available in five, sun-kissed shades, it’s soft, silky and buildable so you can brush a quick sweep over your full face for a hint of color, or use the included angled brush to contour and sculpt. Soft-focus microspheres and biomimicry pigments give it a subtle blurring, second-skin effect, and the combination of shea butter and hyaluronic acid ensure it never makes skin look or feel dry.
Byredo Eyeshadow 5 Colour Compact in Syren ($70)
We have been so taken with the new makeup collection from Byredo since it launched last month, and this mesmerizing eyeshadow quintet, housed in a heavy-duty, artistic gold compact, is no exception. “The color story and high quality of materials are essential elements, but so are the objects containing the cosmetics,” says Ben Gorham, founder and creative director. “These objects are tangible, personal and sensual. The clasp, the noise, the magnet—I wanted the idea of quality and performance through the structure and weight of all.” The glittery baby-pink all over the lids with the vibrant violet along the lash line will turn heads in the best way, especially with a mask on.
Tom Ford Soleil Neige Balm Frost ($56)
At first glance, this lip balm conjures up images of Matthew McConaughey’s “frost yourself” moment in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. A must-have for the girl who has everything, this universal pink, nearly nude lip balm is encrusted with serious shimmer. It’s pretty and pearlescent, and just as the brand intended, it “mimics the look of bright sun glittering on crystalline snow.”
Givenchy Chinese New Year Prisme Libre ($58)
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Givenchy is paying tribute to its founder and art connoisseur Hubert de Givenchy. The brand’s iconic Prisme Libre—four shades of sheer loose powder that mattify and blur for the silkiest-looking skin— is repackaged in red and gold and features a calligraphy-style brushstroke to evoke carefully applied gold leaf.
