Everyone has a collection of items they simply cannot live without. And while Avril Lavigne and I probably couldn’t be more different, we both can’t live without a few beauty products by our side.
In a recent interview with The Strategist, Lavigne shares her two must-have beauty products: Mac Eye Kohl ($19) in shade Smolder and Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator ($62).
“A lot of makeup brands are inconsistent and change their formulas or discontinue products soon after releasing something, but Mac has been very consistent,” she says in the interview. “I’ve been wearing their ‘Smolder’ eyeliner since day one. I like to do a smoky eye because I have blue eyes. It has always been my go-to look. Sometimes I change it up, but only rarely.” Lavigne adds that if she could only keep one makeup product with her forever, it would be this.
When it comes to her skin, the Sk8er Boy singer loves a good scrub, and Dermalogica’s cult-classic exfoliator fits the bill. “This exfoliator is from a safe, clean brand that I overall like. I’ve used their exfoliator on and off for a while, but for the past year, I’ve been using it every day because there aren’t a lot of harsh chemicals in it and it makes my skin feel really smooth. A lot of other exfoliators are harsh or feel grainy and can hurt a little. This one’s gentle and has natural ingredients, so it definitely feels clean.”
Lavigne also mentions a few other favorites throughout her interview with The Strategist, including Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat Tea ($5) to keep her voice clear and dry and her all-time favorite boots: Dr. Martens 1460 Pascal Max Leather Platform Boots ($220).
