Something ordinary you do every day is aging and irritating your skin. Washing it with tap water!
Tap water contains several minerals and metals to maintain its safety. Some of these include chlorine, magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron, and copper. If you live in an area with hard water, it contains even more minerals (and salts) that act as free radicals-exactly what we hear about with sun exposure and air pollution causing wrinkles, fine lines, clogged pores, and dull, dry skin and hair.
The heavy metals break down skin’s cell structures. When they settle into the skin, they break down elastin and collagen. They may also convert our oils into hard waxes which build up and clog our pores, causing blackheads, whiteheads and breakouts. This may also contribute to enlarged pores.
Want to slow down the aging process? Consider installing a sink or shower-head filter. Most of these filters remove chlorine up to 99%. Higher-quality ones will reduce heavy metals and other chemicals. You might also solve that problem of overly dry hair and scalp, and tight, flaky skin.
