I hate the fact that the hair on my legs grows so quickly. Although I’ve tried the waxing route, my schedule just doesn’t allow me to keep up with that kind of routine. If I’m stuck with shaving then my goal in life is to not have to shave as often. Because I wear a lot of skirts and dresses, not shaving, while ideal, just wouldn’t work. The next best alternative was to find a lotion that would retard the re-growth of hair while at the same time, keep my sensitive-prone skin moisturized.
Aveeno promises that your hair will look and feel softer, finer, and less noticeable within four weeks. In addition, your skin will soften and will look smoother.
After shaving my legs in the shower, I always apply Aveeno’s lotion to my legs. You don’t have to use much to get great coverage. I find that 3-4 pumps cover one entire leg. I was concerned that applying their lotion right after shaving might cause some burning or tingling issues. Not at all. Once applied, the lotion absorbed pretty quickly. It didn’t feel greasy or drying. Throughout the day, I never had issues with my legs feeling dry or itchy. When I wore a knee-length skirt without hose, my legs looked nice and smooth.
I did try this over a four-week period. Usually, if I shave my legs on Monday, I can expect stubble to start appearing Tuesday evening. When using Aveeno, it delayed stubble initially, for another 24 hours. With continued use, I did notice the hair coming in less often and it was most definitely softer.
In the entire time I have used it, there have never been any rashes, breakouts, or any other skin irritation. If there was one thing I would change about this product it’s that I wish that it hung around when I went swimming. If I go swimming, I do have to reapply this or another lotion to keep my legs moisturized.
