Blushes come in more formats than ever—sticks, liquids and powders, oh my! While most new launches focus on the newer, seemingly trendier offerings like sticks and liquids (see: Rhode and Anastasia), the classic powder formulas are still the most popular. Instagram account Data, But Make It Fashion pulled 891 articles referencing blush type in 2024 and ran a sentiment analysis to compare the popularity of liquid and powder blush. The results revealed that powder blush is 79 percent more popular than liquid blushes this year.
We sifted through our shelves to pinpoint our favorite powder blushes, from exciting new launches to tried and true classics.
The Best Powder Blushes
NARS Powder Blush ($34)
Nars Powder Blush is undoubtedly a classic, but the OG icon has gotten a refresh this year. The refined formula now lasts up to 16 hours and packs more color payoff. The array of color options is truly a spectacle to be seen.
Kosas Blush Is Life ($29)
Sheena Zadeh gushed about her brand’s recent launch. She told NewBeauty, “This is blush like you’ve never seen it. It’s that blissed-out, turned-on, total-thrill feeling that gives you that flushed look. The entire collection is pretty much like a serotonin dopamine rush for the senses.” And she hit the nail on the head.
RMS Beauty ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush ($35)
This blush is truly a trifecta giving a flush of color, nourishing skin and providing a glowy highlight. Master makeup artist and founder Rose-Marie Swift says, “It gives a highlight and lowlight in one sweep. Apply it high on the cheekbones to lift the face.”
Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush ($40)
This celeb-favorite blush, and NewBeauty Award winner, is a show stopper, whether it’s the bright pink or mahogany shade. It’s a best-seller for a reason—it blends seamlessly and imparts a gorgeous flush of color.
Lawless Make Me Blush Velvet Blush ($29)
Lawless recently launched a gorgeous new blush, Pinch My Cheeks Soft-Blur Cream Blush ($29), but we still have a soft spot in our hearts for their powder product. It goes on buttery smooth and leaves a dreamy pop of color.
Milani Baked Blush ($9)
This drugstore blush, which has actually been baked on Italian terracotta tiles, provides a flush as pigmented as its pricier counterparts. The lit-from-within glow it bestows upon cheeks has kept it a staple in many makeup bags for years.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush ($45)
This innovative formula is a hybrid of the brand’s Ambient Lighting Powder with a variety of blush hues to promote soft-focus, multidimensional color in a way no other blush can.
PATRICK TA Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo ($38)
This blush duo is inspired by celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta’s viral cream-over-powder blush technique. However, the powder stands on its own as a singular sensation.
Well People Superpowder Blush Powder ($20)
If you’re looking for a hydrating, everyday blush this is a great option. It’s buildable, giving cheeks natural-looking color.
Gucci Luminous Matte Beauty Blush ($49)
This is Gucci’s first foray into blush, and the brand says it was “made for pure creative expression.” The stunning color options and striking packaging will certainly make you feel like an artist.
