Oh, CVS. Your red-and-white logo beckons like a beacon in the night for the essentials. And, as anyone who has ever roamed the aisles or read a circular knows, you never slack on the good self-care and beauty deals (hello, ExtraCare Rewards!). “CVS is a great one-stop for all things beauty, skin care and wellness,” says Dallas dermatologist Elizabeth Houshmand, MD. “These are some of my favorites, but they have a lot of options!”
L’Oréal Lumi Glotion ($17)
Dr. Houshmand says that among the beauty picks, this hydrating luminizer (Eva Longoria, Bethenny Frankel, Alix Earle and Martha Stewart are fans) takes tops in her book. “I wear it as my makeup—with sunscreen on top of course.”
L’Oréal Paris Telescopic ($14.50) and CoverGirl LashBlast ($12) mascaras
Describing these two drugstore musts as “great mascara finds,” Dr. Houshmand is a fan of these iconic makeup favorites. Shoppers seem to agree: “All L’Oreal Telescopic mascaras are wonderful if you just want longer lashes!” shared one reviewer.
Essie nail polish ($10)
There are plenty of shades to choose from and Dr. Houshmand says this holy-grail nail brand is a go-to for a good at-home manicure.
Refresh Eye Drops (Starting at $15)
A bit more off-the-radar, Dr. Houshmand recommends these eye drops—especially if you’re traveling. “They are great if you have dry eyes from your being on your laptop/phone and for flights.”
Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash ($9)
Dr. Houshmand says that the both CVS and the Olay brand have so many solid options when it comes to body wash, but this particular SKU is one she “loves.”
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream ($20) and La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 ($17)
Two great options for sensitive skin, Dr. Houshmand always has these derm-recommended products in her bag. CVS shoppers concur, praising the five-star balm as “very soothing and moisturizing…heals your sensitive or peeled skin right away. No irritations. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you can find it.”
“This brand is great for those with keratosis pilaris and dry feet,” says Dr. Houshmand of the lactic acid–powered line.
Supplements
“I take vitamin D3 and zinc as a supplement,” shares Dr. Houshmand. “And CVS has good options for these all well.”
