Our 30s are when we finally stop second-guessing ourselves. Our 40s are a time of power and action. Our 50s are when our wisdom comes in handy. And our 60s? Well, haven’t you heard—60 is the new sexy. Or at least one look at celebrities like Helen Mirren and Jane Seymour suggests such a radical and liberating idea.
Seymour, who is 61 years old, recently showed up to a premier in a skin-tight, fire engine-red bandage dress with the confidence and grace, and the body of a stone cold fox. Sure, the former Bond Girl was born with the raw material, but whatever it is she is doing to stay so spandex-worthy in her senior years is definitely working.
The actress, who publicly proclaims that she is “proud of her wrinkles,” also keeps her skin in tip-top shape as the spokes model and co-developer of the skin-care line Natural Advantage. She is proud to have not had a facelift, though she does admit to trying Botox, which she says she didn’t love due to the fact she felt it took away from the expressiveness of her face.
She has had her eyes done, however, with an upper and lower blepharoplasty—a procedure that removes fat and excess skin from the eyelids and under eyes to make the area appear more youthful and less tired. She says photographers spent so much time retouching her eyes in photographs that she decided to go ahead with the surgery.
Her long, gorgeous red hair—a staple she has been sporting since the 70s—also helps her look youthful into her older years.
In our opinion, Seymour is making the sixties look like the sexiest decade yet.
