There was a time in the not-so-distant past that I bought beauty products from Amazon paying no mind to who they were sold by or where they were shipped from. A couple of bad experiences with questionable product packaging and well-past expiration dates and I’ve learned my lesson. Thankfully, beauty brands have gotten better at cutting out the guesswork. With so many brands now launching official Amazon storefronts, we can be more confident that the beauty we’re buying from the mega-retailer is legit. (In NewBeauty‘s Amazon storefront everything is brand-verified, too.)
And it’s not just the buzziest or newest brands that have adapted to the industry’s fast-changing retail landscape. More and more of the timeless brands I used to walk counter to counter to check out in department stores (in the golden years of mall shopping) are opening up virtual counters on Amazon. Now I can get my all-time favorite products, with anything else I could possibly need, fast and directly from the source. Keep reading for 12 classic beauty brands with official Amazon storefronts you can shop right now.
Clinique
My ultimate department store counter stop was always Clinique, so I was ecstatic when the brand finally launched its Amazon storefront earlier this spring. Here you can shop by skin concern, start a skin analysis and even chat live with a Clinique Ambassador. Or, if you’re like me and millions of consumers, you’re beelining straight for their legendary cosmetics, like Chubby Sticks, Clinique Happy Perfume or anything Black Honey.
Kiehl’s
Kiehl’s has been a mainstay in the beauty world since 1851. Its original apothecary on the corner of 13th Street and Third Avenue in New York is still there today. But if you’re nowhere near the iconic storefront, the brand officially expanded into Amazon in May of this year. Kiehl’s General Manager, John Reed, explains: “Inspired by our heritage as a neighborhood apothecary brand, this collaboration allows us to continue our legacy while providing high-performance skin-care solutions at even greater scale.” Shop Kiehl’s cult-classics like its Ultra Facial Cream ($39) and the deliciously scented Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter ($49) below, two of my favorites, among hundreds of other Kiehl’s products.
Elizabeth Arden
Thanks to TikTok, beauty brands that may have historically been associated with older generations are having a social media resurgence. One such brand is Elizabeth Arden (a favorite among two more Elizabeths: the late Queen Elizabeth II and Hollywood royalty, Elizabeth Taylor). Both formidable Elizabeths counted on Arden’s original Eight Hour Cream ($35) as staples in their beauty routines. It’s still a best-seller today, and available on Amazon.
Revlon
Revlon launched its first products in the early 1900s and makeup artists still love its high quality and affordable cosmetics today. Case in point: Ashley Graham’s MET Gala glam was thanks to an arsenal of Revlon makeup. Plus, TikTok users keep causing this $10 Revlon lipstick to sell out because millions of people swear it looks flattering on everyone.
Oribe
When you think of texturizing spray, the first image that probably comes to mind is Oribe’s cult-favorite Dry Texturizing Spray ($52), but its whole collection is splurge-worthy. The brand is beloved by hairstylists and celebrities and has a line for every concern, whether strands need thickening, strengthening, color care or just deserve some extra luxury.
OPI
“Bubble Bath.” “Big Apple Red.” “Alpine Snow.” “Cajun Shrimp.” These are just a select few of OPI’s most legendary nail shades. You can find them all on Amazon, along with OPI’s numerous collections like original Nail Lacquer, Infinite Shine or Nature Strong vegan nail polishes.
Lancôme
Lancôme needs no introduction among beauty fanatics. The French brand offers new and best-selling skin care, makeup and fragrances in its Amazon storefront, including the Penelope Cruz-loved Advanced Génifique serum ($89) and the Teint Idole foundation ($57) Emily in Paris star Lily Collins “always” has with her.
Maybelline
If someone says, “Maybe she’s born with it,” you know what the next line is. That’s how well-known Maybelline is. Maybelline’s staying power as one of the drugstore greats is thanks to its formulas that are just as good as more expensive beauty products. Case in point, I know multiple makeup artists who absolutely love Maybelline’s hyaluronic acid-infused Lifter Gloss ($12) and swear by Lash Sensational Mascara ($13) above all others.
Olay
Speaking of great drugstore beauty, don’t scroll past Olay on your next Amazon haul. Looking for effective skin care with proven ingredients? Generations of people will recommend one of Olay’s science-backed serums, moisturizers, body washes and more.
Redken
Salon-grade hair care at home has never been easier, thanks to Amazon. Thousands of shoppers rave over Redken’s formulas (it’s one of the top hair brands of 2024) for softening, nourishing and repairing strands. May we recommend the Acidic Bonding Concentrate ($33)? It conditions and revitalizes weak and damaged hair in just five minutes.
L’Oréal
With a history of spokespeople that include Julia Roberts and Helen Mirren, L’Oréal is the definition of legendary. On Amazon, you’ll find hundreds of products, including its original Voluminous Mascara (a Kyle Richards‘ must-have) and the waterproof version. (it’s the only mascara that has ever held a curl on my stick-straight lashes.) Another notable L’Oréal Amazon find: True Match Lumi Glotion ($17). It’s the glow-enhancer Martha Stewart wore on her cover of Sports Illustrated.
Essie
Finally, nail powerhouse Essie has all its collections featured on its Amazon storefront. From classic nail polishes to currently trending jelly glosses, thousands of Essie polishes are just one click away. Pro tip: Essie discontinues shades pretty frequently (bring back Clambake!), but sometimes I can still find them on Amazon.
