Though some experts debate whether an eye cream is necessary, clinical studies don’t lie. Good before-and-after images don’t hurt either. (Always make sure the lighting or facial positioning in the photos isn’t skewing the results.) Exuviance AGE REVERSE Eye Contour is both clinically proven and has impressive before-and-after results to show. It’s a fantastic firming eye cream, but it also does so much more. Here, my honest review.
The Benefits of This Eye Cream
If I’m going to take the extra step in my routine to use an eye cream, I want it to work really hard for me. I want it to address multiple signs of aging at once, and this cream does that. Who doesn’t love a good multitasking product? This ophthalmologist-tested formula combines a variety of potent ingredients, including peptides, which support skin’s natural collagen production. This helps firm up the skin for a more youthful appearance.
Other key ingredients are two types of polyhydroxy acids: gluconolactone and maltobionic acid. Gluconolactone is naturally found in the skin and gently exfoliates. Maltobionic acid is derived from natural sugars like maltose and simultaneously functions as a moisturizer and gentle exfoliator. It helps even the skin tone around the eyes and lessen fine lines and wrinkles like crow’s-feet, while also hydrating the skin. Caffeine and ginseng boost microcirculation to take down puffiness, and optical diffusers reflect light to brighten dark circles. Also, as most eye creams come in jars, I also appreciate the airless pump bottle. This choice of packaging helps preserve the potency, and therefore efficacy, of the formula.
In clinical testing, after four weeks of twice-daily use, participants reported several key benefits. An impressive 97 percent of people said the cream was gentle, reduced puffiness and hydrated their skin. Additionally, 94 percent of people said the area around their eyes looked brighter, and 88 percent said the cream increased firmness. Other visible improvements included a reduction in lines (81 percent reported this), and 75 percent of people said the cream appeared to lift their skin.

How to Use It
When you first get this firming eye cream, apply it once a day for two weeks. I prefer using it at night, but you could do morning instead. The brand recommends this to allow your skin to acclimate. Then, switch to using it twice a day (or as tolerated). I love how smooth it goes on and how moisturized it leaves my skin. My concealer also layers on top of it really well. I haven’t experienced any irritation or milia either.
