Everything Miranda Kerr does—from launching her own skin-care brand to her nighttime routine videos on Instagram—has a solid 10 out of 10 rating on our end. But, her makeup look at last night’s Met Gala was so good we couldn’t put a number on it. Here is a breakdown of all the treatments and products used to get her glowing.
First, Kerr began her skin prep with a facial from Iván Pol, also known as The Beauty Sandwich, using Chanel products. Kerr isn’t the only star that scheduled a facial with Pol ahead of the Met Gala. Karlie Kloss, Eiza Gonzalez, Jeremy Pope and Maggie Rogers also prepped their skin with a Beauty Sandwich Facial.
Kerr’s next stop was celebrity esthetician Ildi Pekar for a microcurrent facial. “This type of facial, which is a form of micro-electrical currents that penetrate and stimulate over 35 different muscles in your face to help lift and tighten skin, is the foundation for great skin,” explains Pekar in a statement shared with us. This facial boasts a handful of benefits, including lymphatic drainage, a boost in collagen and elastin production, reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, tighter skin and a more even complexion.
Two facials weren’t enough for Kerr—she also got two more from celebrity skin-care specialist Nousha Salimi. Kerr had two reiki facials, with crystals present, performed by Salimi on back-to-back days. Kerr’s own brand, Kora Organics, was used during these facials. Her longtime friend and fellow model Lily Aldridge also got a facial with Salimi using Kora Organics ahead of the Met Gala.
After her four facials, her skin was ready for makeup. Before the supermodel hit the red carpet, her makeup artist, Ericka Verrett, started on the base. “For complexion, I knew I wanted to let Miranda’s radiant skin shine through and so I opted for the famous ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 ($48) mixed with ILIA True Skin Serum Concealer ($30), leaving her with a dewy, natural look,” says Verrett in a release. For the cheeks, Verrett opted for the ILIA Multi-Stick ($34) in shade Whisper along with a swipe of ILIA Liquid Light Serum Highlighter ($42).
For the eyes, it was ILIA The Necessary Eyeshadow Palette ($38) in Warm Nude on the lids. “Using a combination of the assortment of matte, satin and metallic finishes, I focused on creating a dramatic yet tastefully muted makeup look to help emphasize the bold lip,” Verrett says. “My favorite shade, 1979, is a beautiful, warm terracotta that I used to create the subtle cat eye effect.” To finish up the glam, she completed the eyes with a winged liner using ILIA Clean Line Gel Liner ($26) in Dusk and two coats of ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara ($28).
