No stranger to the red carpet, the beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow made a bold appearance during this week’s Hollywood premiere of Iron Man 3. The 40-year-old mother of two channeled her inner superhero with a futuristic looking gown, sheer on the sides that could only be pulled off by a body like Paltrow’s. But with a dress that speaks for itself, Paltrow’s hair and makeup were toned-town in comparison, and in true Paltrow fashion—just pretty.
“My inspiration for Gwyneth’s look was the earth! She reminds me of all the things I love about our world! She is an inspiration to women and people,” says CHANEL celebrity makeup artist Angela Levin. Want to recreate Paltrow’s elegant and earthy look? Levin broke down the steps so you can try it at home:
Skin: I started her makeup application on a clean face, prepping the skin with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum all over. I then set Angels Make Up Collagen pads under her eyes and used a cinema secret: applying Ultimate Foundation Primer with a sponge on the face and neck.
Foundation: With the CHANEL Foundation Brush #6, I dabbed a small amount of CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Beige Ambre all over including the neck.
Blush: On the cheeks, I used Joe Blasco Blush Cream in Natural Blush, and dusted her face with CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Desert Corail.
Eye Shadow: For the eyes I used CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Lilium, lining the eyes with the darkest green shade. Then blending up toward the brow bone using the lighter colors, and ending with the lightest shade under the brow bone as a highlight. Next, I applied a jumbo creamy black eye pencil, lining her upper lash line and smudged it with a Q-Tip for an intense smoky effect.
Mascara: I primed her lashes with CHANEL Nourishing Mascara Base, and then applied three layers of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on the upper lashes and one layer on the lower lashes.
Brows: I sculpted her eyebrows using Sephora Retractable Brow Pencil in Honey Blonde.
Lips: On her lips I applied CHANEL Glossimer in Rose Savage.
