With parents Dr. Mehmet and Lisa Oz, Daphne Oz knows a thing or two about living a healthy lifestyle, but it wasn’t always easy. In a recent interview with NewBeauty, Daphne revealed her struggle with weight loss as she was growing up. She says, “I grew up very overweight and the only way I was eventually able to permanently and safely lose the weight was to promise never to deprive myself again. I lost more than 30 pounds simply by recalibrating the power balance so that the eater (me) could take back control of the eaten (food). Now, I eat whatever I want but I eat everything in moderation and I make sure to set myself up for success by always keeping healthy options on hand.”
For more on Daphne’s health, beauty and style tips, check out her latest book, RELISH: An Adventure in Food, Style and Everyday Fun. The book is loaded with some of Daphne’s favorite recipes that quite frankly we can’t wait to try. Watermelon and jalapeño gazpacho with feta anyone? Yes, please! There’s also a section on style, which is definitely something Daphne knows a bit about. In fact, her mom Lisa revealed to NewBeauty that it was Daphne’s sense of style that helped her realize she couldn’t spend her whole life in “mommy pants.” The book also delves into Daphne’s strategies for balancing work and a personal life while always remembering to have fun along the way and enjoy life’s journey.
