If there was one trend we especially loved during Sunday night’s 55th Annual Grammy Awards, it was the popular nude lip. Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Faith Hill and Kelly Rowland were just a few of the celebs sporting this red-carpet trend. Read on to see some of our other favorite stars’ nude-lip looks and find out what shades their makeup artists used to create them, so you can try them yourself.
Adele
For Adele’s Grammy look, makeup artist Michael Ashton played up her signature cat eye with a glowing complexion, high-volume lashes and a soft pink lip.
To create a blush tone lip, Ashton chose Armani Lip Maestro 500 ($32) which has a high concentration of pigment to create a punch of color, and staying power to prevent reapplication throughout the evening. He also used MyFace lip liner ($16) in Nude and Sisley Phyto Lip Star Lip Gloss in White Diamond ($55) to complete the soft lip.
Allison Williams
“The makeup was inspired by the colors and details of her beautiful beaded dress and jewelry. I wanted to give Allison a dark rimmed eye with a touch of shimmery charcoal gray,” says celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh for tarte.
To create a rosy, nude hue for Allison’s pout, Quynh applied tarte’s LipSurgence matte lip tint in hope ($24).
Carly Rae Jepson
Carly went for a rocker-chic look at the Grammys. Celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow offset Carly’s edgy metallic eye with a pouty, barely-there nude lip by applying Lancôme Le Crayon in Nude ($25).
Estelle
Celebrity makeup artist Joanna Simkin gave Estelle a luminescent complexion and smoky eyes for the Grammys. Rounding out the look: thick lashes, a dusting of shimmer across her cheekbones and a natural lip with Lancôme L’Absolu Nu Lipcolor in Beige Silk ($30).
Kaley Cuoco
Rock and roll chic meets runway was the look Kaley Cuoco was going for according to mark makeup artist Jamie Greenberg.
“I applied mark Lipclick in Bare Hug ($11) followed by a layer of mark Glimmer Shine Lip Gloss in Nude Glimmer ($12) to add extra shine,” explains Greenberg.
Katy Perry
Katy Perry went for an old Hollywood-inspired makeup look created for her by makeup artist Jake Bailey.
Bailey completed the look by lining Perry’s lips with Rimmel London Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lipliner ($3) in Natural and applying a coat of Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Crush ($5).
