NewBeauty caught up with one of Hollywood’s hottest stars, Noureen DeWulf, who currently stars opposite Charlie Sheen in the FX hit comedy “Anger Management,” to get the scoop on how she stays in such great shape and learn more about her beauty must-haves.
LEAN PHYSIQUE
Noureen makes fitness and staying in shape a part of her lifestyle. She does interval training and light weights to maintain her lean physique while strengthening and maintaining her core. She also incorporates foam rolling—a tip she picked up from her husband, professional hockey player Ryan Miller. Foam rolling is a type of self-massage that involves rolling foam cylinders under different muscles to relax and stretch them. Noureen credits the technique for improving her posture and encourages others to try it saying, “It really changed the way my whole body looks.”
EATING RIGHT
When it comes to nutrition, Noureen says, “Moderation is key.” When filming, she focuses on eating more veggies and fewer carbs. She admits to having a sweet tooth and a weakness for chocolate but tries not to cheat too much when it comes to maintaining a reasonable diet.
LOW MAINTENANCE HAIR
And if only we could all have hair that looks as amazing as Noureen’s. She credits her Indian heritage for the “genetic gift of good hair” that doesn’t require too much maintenance. She reveals a fondness for dry shampoo, particularly Bumble and bumble Brown Hair Powder dry shampoo, which she says gives that “bed-head, sexy look.”
PRODUCT FAVORITES
Noureen loves beauty products in general but she does have a few favorites. Her makeup must-have is mascara and she’s a fan of Guerlain Kohl Mascara. She prefers tinted lotions for glowing skin and says Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and Mario Badescu Papaya Body Lotion are among her current faves.
BACKSTAGE BEAUTY TIP
Noureen has shared the screen with some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters, including Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez, but it’s off-screen where she picked up one of her favorite beauty tricks. “A makeup artist once told me that because of the shape of my eyes I don’t need to use an eyelash curler. I could just curl them around my fingers and hold for 10 seconds.”
GOING NATURAL
While Noureen says she does love products and getting all dressed up for whatever role she’s playing, she admits that when she’s not working people would hardly recognize her, as she prefers to go natural and give her skin and hair a break. She also says the natural look is something she is “learning to be more comfortable with.” We think she looks stunning no matter what!
