Whether jetting off on a whirlwind summer abroad, attending influencer trips, or strutting on the runways of New York Fashion Week, TikTok star Remi Bader always had her go-to gadget in hand—and now, she’s ready to share it with the world. Bader’s cracked the code of style and comfort with the ultimate accessory: a ring light and fan combo.
Inspired by what she calls “countless sweaty-girl summers,” the FanGirl ($25) is the clip-on must-have we didn’t know we needed. Here, she shares the other essentials that keep her looking flawless during and after her viral fashion hauls.
What inspired you to create FanGirl? This is the first product you’ve put your name on.
“It took me a while to decide because I didn’t want to put my name on just anything. I’ve been a content creator for four years, and I needed to be really passionate about the project. About a year ago, I realized how much I relied on a portable fan because I’m always sweaty. My followers even started using the hashtag #RemiMadeMeDoIt when they bought the same Amazon fan I carried everywhere. I thought, “Why not make something better?” So, I combined a strong fan with a selfie ring light. It clips onto your phone or laptop, has three fan speeds, three light modes and adjustable brightness. It just makes life easier for sweaty girls like me!”
Do you have any user tips?
“You can use the fan and the light separately or together, depending on what you need. There’s a button for the fan and two for the light—one for color modes and one for brightness. One thing to note is that you really see how great the light is when it’s darker or cloudy outside. A lot of people were like, “Oh, the light isn’t bright enough!” But on bright days, you don’t need it. At night, it really makes a difference, and I tested it with other creators to get feedback. I’m excited that it works for everyone, not just influencers. Anyone who wants to take a good selfie or stay cool can use it!”
What are some skin-care faves you keep in rotation?
“I swear by Tower 28’s Tinted Sunscreen With SPF ($32). It’s great for sensitive, acne-prone skin like mine. I also love the Shani Darden’s Weightless Oil-Free Moisturizer ($50)—it’s light and perfect for under makeup. For foundation, Estee Lauder’s Double Wear ($52) is my favorite. It holds up well for sweaty girls and doesn’t clog pores. Those three products have been my lifesavers this summer.”
What do you find you always use before going on camera?
“I’m all about lip gloss! The MAC Clear Lipglass ($24) is my go-to for any look because it’s super shiny and thick. I also love the new Rhode blushes ($24)—they’re quick and easy to apply, and I set them with Pat McGrath’s pink powder ($35). And, of course, I always have my FanGirl with me! I get sweaty while filming, so I need it on hand.”
Are there any treatments you swear by?
“I’m not into lasers or injectables yet, but I’m really consistent with facials. I see a good esthetician monthly for extractions and light peels. It’s helped my skin so much this summer, especially with my acne.”
You are always on the go! How do you manage everything with your busy schedule?
“I’ve learned to set boundaries and listen to my body. If I’m having a bad mental health day or feeling overwhelmed, I take a break. I tell my team I need an hour, go to yoga or meditate. I used to put my career first and ignore my mental health, but now I make sure to prioritize myself—even setting alarms to remind me to eat!”
