America Ferrera’s Barbie monologue about the realities of being a woman in today’s society lives rent free in my head. Before hearing the buzz around Ferrera’s Oscar-worthy scene, I hadn’t given much thought to seeing the Margot Robbie-led film, but I’m so glad I did. Ever since, I (along with millions of others) have been rooting for Ferrera throughout awards season, culminating in last night’s Academy Awards.
To no one’s surprise, Ferrera looked radiant in a Versace pink chainmail gown. Sporting an effortless wavy bob and minimal makeup, her natural beauty shined through. Celebrity makeup artist Linda Hay summed it up best: “America and her beauty encapsulate three words: fresh, flawless, powerful!”
To achieve the Best Supporting Actress nominee’s “fresh” look, Hay relied on Cover Girl’s iconic product catalog. In her Instagram story, Hay shared a peek into some of the makeup she used for Ferrera’s Oscar’s glam. Spotted on the prep table was the Perfect Point Plus Eye Pencil ($8.50) in Black Onyx, TruBlend So Flushed High Pigment Blush ($12) in Love Me, Clean Fresh Brow Pencil ($9) and Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation ($10) in shades 550 Light/Medium and 520 Fair.
As far as foundations go, Cover Girl’s Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation is unique. It’s made with coconut milk and aloe extract for an ultra-nourishing, hydrated wear with a dewy finish. It’s lightweight coverage is buildable and melts into skin for a seamless glow for all skin types. One shopper called it “stunning” and loves that the formula still “shows [their] freckles.” A second who said they “typically only [purchase] high end foundations” was “shocked and satisfied” by Skin Milk. It “blends easily” and “stays all day,” is “natural but buildable,” and “leaves a beautiful finish,” they elaborated. Another calls it their “all time favorite” because it “blurs the skin.”
Skin Milk is a hit with all skin types. A user with dry skin said it “doesn’t cling to my dry patches like foundations do,” while another said it “does not flake or separate at all.” A separate customer expected the dewy finish to be too “glowy” for their oily skin, but it didn’t leave their skin slick, it “just looks like your skin,” they wrote. “Nothing beats the healthy glow and clean ingredients,” said a shopper with sensitive skin.
