CVS has been everyone’s one-stop-shop for all things health and beauty since the opening of its first store in 1963. Six (!!!) decades later, the company has transformed itself multiple times over the years, however, it turns out that the best had yet to come. Now, CVS Pharmacy is making yet another bold move within their stores, giving all their locations a major revamp that’s a whole lot bigger than any remodel they’ve ever done before.

CVS Pharmacy just announced that they’ll be launching a new beauty store format called BeautyIRL. The new set-up will have a completely re-designed beauty department with new, in-store beauty services available courtesy of their recent partnership with GlamSquad. So, not only will you be able to stock up on all your favorite drugstore products, you’ll also be able to book services like blowouts, dry-styling, braids, 30-minute makeup applications and skincare treatments—similar to the ones that Sephora and Ulta currently offer.
While these added experiential treatments are already a major bonus for the store, that’s not all that’s being upgraded. There will now also be a “Mini Must-Have” boutique where customers can curate their own bag filled with miniature beauty products, which is great if you’re looking to stock up on products before traveling. Additionally, a Test-and-Play Hygiene Bar will now be available, allowing you to safely test out products without worrying about spreading germs. Check out a preview of the store’s new look, below:

Sadly, most of us are going to have to wait a few months longer for the re-design to hit our local CVS. The new store concept is debuting in only three states—Florida, Massachusetts and Connecticut—for now, with additional stores getting the upgrade in 2019. Fingers crossed this new format hits more locations sooner rather than later!
