In a recent survey of over 1,600 NewBeauty readers, thousands of products were raved about, but five skin-care brands emerged as clear favorites. From sunscreens to serums, cleansers to creams, these brands have won the hearts (and shelf space) of our discerning readers. Ahead, the most popular skin care brands among our readers.
EltaMD
EltaMD tops our list, with 42.8 percent of survey respondents currently using their products. The brand’s sunscreens, in particular, receive high praise. A 76-year-old reader raves, “I love the Elta tinted sunscreen. It protects my skin while giving it a subtle glow. It does not cause my skin to break out or feel dry.” This sentiment is echoed by a 50-year-old user who notes, “I love EltaMD sunscreen. It soaks into [the] skin so nicely and I’m able to apply makeup with no issue.”
SkinCeuticals
Coming in second, SkinCeuticals is used by 34.1 percent of our readers. The brand’s iconic C E Ferulic serum is particularly popular, with a 51-year-old reader stating, “There is absolutely zero comparison to other ‘dupes’ of this product. I’ve tried many of them and simply don’t see the same results.” Other products receiving praise include the Discoloration Serum and the Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 Anti-Aging Cream, which a 43-year-old reader says “works wonders on aging, dehydrated skin.”
CeraVe
CeraVe secures the third spot, used by 34 percent of survey respondents. The brand is appreciated for its gentle yet effective formulations. A 57-year-old reader comments, “Cerave is a trusted brand and their products are never a disappointment.” The CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser receives particular praise, with a 54-year-old reader calling it their “all-time favorite cleanser.”
La Roche-Posay
La Roche-Posay is the fourth most-used brand, with 30 percent of readers incorporating it into their routines. Readers appreciate the brand for its gentleness, effectiveness and affordability. A 51-year-old reader notes, “It is dermatologist recommended and affordable,” while another adds, “With a brand like La Roche Posay, they have been around long enough to know they are a brand you can trust.”
Alastin Skincare
Rounding out the top five most popular skin care brands is Alastin Skincare, used by 19.4 percent of survey respondents. The brand is known for its medical-grade products, with a 46-year-old reader commenting, “Amazing medical-grade products to use especially having some type of treatment done.” Standout products include the Hydratint Pro Mineral Sunscreen, which a 33-year-old reader calls their “new replacement for makeup,” and the C-Radical Defense Serum, which a 40-year-old user says “reduces redness and quickly plumps and brightens my skin!” A 60-year-old reader also praised the Regenerating Skin Nectar, noting she used it after a skin procedure and “helped healing time.”
