Heidi Klum sat down with Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper on Wednesday, September 25, for a conversation about aging and how her perspective has evolved—and may continue to evolve—through the years. The 51-year-old supermodel didn’t hold back as she discussed everything from her post-pregnancy body to the unrealistic standards people place on women. On Navigating Aging in the Spotlight…
One of the first questions Cooper asked Klum was about her experience aging in the public eye. The model shared that she gets the “mini skirt question all the time,” with people often asking, “How long are you going to wear mini skirts?” No matter how often she’s asked, Klum said: “I’ve said many times, ‘I probably will be walking around at 70 if I feel like it, still with a mini skirt if I want to show my legs.'”
On Embracing Self-Confidence at Any Age…
Regardless of the expectations people set for her age, Klum stays true to how she feels. “At the end of the day, I still look in the mirror and I feel good about myself. I still have the passion for shopping for fun things and putting on fun outfits and doing my hair and doing my makeup.” She added that while that passion might change in the future, it’s still going strong. “I still have the fire in me,” she said. “I love fun things, and I’m still running around the beach with my boobs hanging out, and I don’t really care. Do they look like how they looked before I had kids and they sucked the living daylight out of them? They are different now!”
On Her Unshakeable ‘I Don’t Care’ Attitude…
When Cooper asked Klum how she feels about people making critical comments regarding her love for mini skirts, the supermodel didn’t flinch. “If they think that, so be it, I don’t care,” she said. “I feel very strong with myself that even though people say those types of things, it doesn’t really get to me because I don’t see it that way. I look at myself and yes, my legs do not look like your legs, so it’s very different, obviously. But I still feel okay with my legs.”
