Ever since the iconic opening ceremony on the Seine, all eyes have been on the incredible athletes making history at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. From the G.O.A.T. Simone Biles breaking records with her vault passes to Katie Ledecky lapping the competition in the pool and Noah Lyles flying down the track, Team USA has been absolutely crushing it, and looking great while doing it.
Olympic athletes are the most experienced in their field, and with them is a well-curated lineup of products to help them look and feel their best while competing. If a product is good enough to withstand the physical hardships of an Olympic sport, it’s surely enough for our day-to-day, and our most recent gold medal product recommendation comes from Team USA track star Athing Mu.
Athing Mu’s Race Day Beauty Staples
Born and bred in small town New Jersey, 22-year-old Athing Mu is already a multi-medal earning Olympian and world record holder for the women’s 800m dash. Mu is an expert at all things sprints, and who better to take long-lasting, sweat proof beauty advice from than someone who literally runs for a living? In a recent interview with Allure, Mu let readers in on her race day staple products, including the concealer she swears by to stay in place from start line to finish line.
“Besides my skin-care routine, I am one of the most low-maintenance people you’ll ever meet,” Mu told Allure, “I stick to what I know. I do like to wear makeup when I race, but I’ve pulled back what I actually put on my face, mostly because of the humidity. If you put foundation on and start sweating, it’s going to melt with you. Of course, there’s setting spray, but when it comes to athleticism, we need some hardcore glue or something to keep everything in place.” What does she still use, though? NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($32), of course.
“For the most part, I’ll put NARS concealer under my eyes and in the triangle area around my mouth; it’s so creamy,” Mu notes, “For my lips, I’ll do Aquaphor ($13). When it comes to my eyebrows, I love Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer ($26) , and then I always put Got2b Glued ($9) on my eyebrows so that they stick up nice.”
