From music to alcohol, we’re no strangers to celebrity brands. And now, the 10 most successful celebrity-owned businesses have been revealed. All businesses are ranked by revenue and search popularity. More than half of the rankings are beauty brands!
Research by Arka names six beauty companies out of the top 10 celebrity brands. Rare Beauty by (recent billionaire) Selena Gomez takes the top spot, with Rihanna’s Fenty line following closely behind. Let’s see if your favorite celeb-owned brand made it to the top 10.
Breaking Down the Top 10 Celebrity-Owned Brands
According to Arka’s research, there’s a clear winner among celebrity brands. Beats by Dre has a reported revenue of over a billion dollars, making it the most successful celebrity-owned business. But it isn’t the most searched brand on this list. That honor goes to Fenty, which ranks fourth overall by revenue.
The other beauty brands on this list include The Honest Co. (fifth place), from which Jessica Alba recently stepped down, Haus Labs by Lady Gaga (seventh place), R.E.M. Beauty by Ariana Grande (eighth place) and JLo Beauty (tenth place). You’ll also spy a skincare company, The Outset by Scarlett Johansson, in sixth place.
Clearly, the beauty world has a tight hold on these rankings, but Beats by Dre and Kim Kardashian’s Skims take the number one and two spots. And we don’t think it’s a coincidence that these celeb beauty brands are consistently well-reviewed and loved by beauty fans.
According to Arka’s research, brands outside the top 10 is much more diverse. Did you know there are a lot of celebrity alcohol brands? That said, there’s still a strong representation of the beauty, skincare and haircare worlds. From LolaVie by Jennifer Aniston (19th place) to Henry Rose, founded by Michelle Pfeiffer (26th place), many of the most successful celebrity brands are related to the world of beauty. It just goes to show that beauty really does make the world go round!
